Instrument Training Centre

  • This centre was established at New Delhi in 1962 for imparting specilised training in the discipline of instrumentation.
  • In the Intermediate Course of 4 months duration, the emphasis is given on the operational and observational aspects of all equipments used in the department.
  • In the advanced course of 10 months duration, the stress is laid on the theory, maintenance and servicing of different types of equipment.
  • The ITC is one of the Regional Training Centres of World Meteorological Organisation. More than 55 foreign nominees have been trained so far under various international co-operation schemes.
  • The training centre is equipped with modern facilities for conducting classes, a library for books to trainees and a well furnished hostel.
