REGIONAL INFERENCE
The Western Disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan & neighbourhood now lies over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir and extends up to 3.6 km above mean sea level. However, the trough aloft has moved away northeast wards. A fresh Western disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation extending up to 9.5 km above mean sea level lies over western parts of Iran and neighbourhood. As an upper air trough interacting briefly with a tropical easterly trough, it is likely to affect northwest India from 22nd January. The cyclonic circulation extending upto 0.9 km above mean sea level over southeast Rajasthan and neighbourhood now lies over east Rajasthan and neighbourhood at 1.5 km above mean sea level. The lowest minimum temperature over the plains of Northwest-India was 2.1 degree celcius recorded at Adampur (Punjab).
